The Conduit 2 Delayed till 2011, Classic Controller Compatible

SEGA have confirmed that the upcoming sequel to High Voltage's alien shooter will be touching down in Q1 2011.

The second attempt at cracking the fairly sparse Wii FPS market was originally set to invade in November this year, but has been pushed into the early months of 2011 for unknown reasons.

Thanks to C3 reader Ifrit XXII for the tip.

It's highly likely though with Goldeneye 007 pumping bullets before Christmas, and around the same time as the original Conduit 2 launch, that SEGA felt it would be more appropriate to release the new game once the nostalgia dust has settled slightly.

According to Nintendojo, there's also been confirmation of Classic Controller (Pro) support for multiplayer, in addition to the regular Wii Remote and nunchuck.

Goldeneye and Call of Duty: Black ops will most likely be the reason why launch has been pushed back.

Oh ya, I forgot about Black Ops - definitely these two causing them to push the game back. Still, am excited to see how the sequel has progressed, the addition of split-screen offline multiplayer will definitely be a plus for me.

Didn't like online with the first. Was a little too insane!

Loving the Classic Controller support. I prefer the Wii remote but my brother doesn't like using it for FPS since he's left handed so he'll be able to play more comfortably.

They know what they got wrong with the first game so I'm excited to see what the game is like. Smilie

Just so you guys know, it wasn't done for "unkown reasons." Every other source I've heard this from said it's so that they can rebuild the custom control system.

One of the things I'm most excited about (besides all of the immense improvements to pretty much every aspect of the game) is that the game now supports patching. So all of those glitchers who absolutely ruined the first game and made it entirely untouchable will hopefully be taken care of with the sequel.

Edit: Also, apparently, they've added the ability to add friends from the post-game lobby. That sounds pretty cool.

It's completely free to download. If you enjoy it, please also check out a collection called "Dark Things." This one is $.99, but the first two stories are free.

I always thought the Wiimote was better for left handed people no? Because you can have the stick on either side.

I always wondered about this left handed argument, the wii remote and nunchuck is just a standerd controller split apart so...how is it any different from a classic controller ?
I'm left handed myself but seeing as I grew up(and everyone else did) with the configuration Direction Controles Left Side and Action Buttons Right Side ...how is this different from holding a nunchuck in your left hand and a wiiremote in your right hand?

Huh? Surely it's much much worse for lefties? I am left handed and it sucks playing Wii shooting games or anything where you need to point. Zelda was a pain.

I aim with my left hand so, and am used to playing controllers where the left hand is used for movement. So it makes it tricky to use nunchuck in the right hand as it feels unnatural to move with the right hand if you are left handed and used to analogue stick in the left.

I'm left handed, but I grew up with most people around me trying to force me to do things right-handedly, so now I'm slightly ambidextrous, so holding the Wii Remote in my right hand to aim doesn't really bother me.

On topic: I think it's almost definitely to do with competition, because everything that Sega advertise besides Sonic doesn't seem to sell well at all.
