Aksys Games has released a playable online demo for upcoming DS horror adventure novel 999: 9 Hours, 9 People, 9 Doors.

The DS is becoming a growing haven for touch-and-click adventure novels, and 999 aims to inject a dose of m-rated horror into the genre.

You take on the role of a college student, Junpei, who wounds up lost and trapped on a mysterious ship full of strangers, and an old friend from nine years ago. The goal: unwravel the disturbing events and escape, presumably with a load of references to the number nine.

Playing through Last Window now and loving it. From what I tried of the Japanese version of this last year, the basic gameplay isn't too dissimilar...a mix of good story with a smattering of puzzle goodness!

Let's hope for a Euro release...
