Brighten up your autumn with a trio of new DSi XL colours on the way from Nintendo: Yellow, Blue and Green.

The new modes of the extra large DS console previously went on sale in Japan and join the default Wine and Brown models. The delicious new flavours will be available in Europe from October 8th, in time for Professor Layton and the Lost Future and just before the Christmas rush.

Will you be buying a new DSi XL console? Which could do you prefer?

They look a bit tacky to me. Very toy-like. Most definitely more appealling to kids. It's the black outer frames that don't do it for me.

The yellow/black one looks pretty groovy. I think it's the black trim that keeps them from looking like toys.

Yellow is my absolute favorite color... but the problem isn't that it looks toyish.

The problem is that it's FREAKING MASSIVE DSi XL.

I'm sorry but they're just way too big. After having my nice little Lite that can fit in my pocket, there's just no way I'd cart one of these behemoths around and try to convince myself it was "portable."

I've also heard rumors that the games look worse because the screen size is so stretched from normal. Seriously that yellow chomper would Pac-Man the shit out of a clunky PSP 1000 like it was a little white dot.

Yellow and green look glam, blue looks kinda standard. Boom!

With the 3DS coming out soon, and current DS models constantly getting price slashes, this seems fairly pointless - GBMicro style...

Those who aren't in the know on 3DS of course. Smilie

Speaking of which, this tidbit of news pretty much rules out the 3DS getting to Europe this year, looks like Nintendo want the DS to have one final push, as it should really. Smilie

Glad too, since I don't have enough cash yet for one. Smilie
