n-Space Would Port Geist to 3DS on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

In an interview with n-Space's creative director Ted Newman, he reveals that it'd be possible to port GameCube gem Geist to 3DS.

The first-person paranormal shooter, released toward the end of the GameCube's life, would be fairly straightforward to port over due to similarities between systems. Whilst praising the new portable hardware, Newman explains how he would love to see a version on the 3DS.

"You know, if Nintendo was interested in getting a Geist game on 3DS, it’s certainly doable. As a fan of Geist and as someone who worked on it for three-and-a-half years, I’d love to see it. I love the whole mechanic, and I love that whole universe."

The original game was greeted with mixed reviews from both fans and critics, scoring a solid 8/10 in our review. Weren't alive to the play the GameCube outing? Here's a little reminder:

Geist was cool. I could never beat the final boss though. Smilie The game wasn't perfect, I'd prefer a remake or sequel to a port...

It's been a while since I've played it, but I remember really liking Geist. It was such a cool idea. I remember liking the whole atmosphere of the game.

I should play it again sometime.

Geist was one of those games that could benefit greatly from a more polished sequel. The concept was great, but the presentation and design was lacking. I think someone like Rare or Capcom would be able to turn this concept into a great game.

This is the best fps for the cube.

PS3 is just good for Catherine, Demons souls, Dark Souls, and Folklore

Good, but Id rather have a Wii version.
Giest should have been Nintendo's FPS game IP imho.

And while it wasn't an AAA game, it was decent and could have resulted in a far better sequel.
(Look what happened with Sony and Killzone1, for example).

No! I want Winter not Geist! I don't want to revisit Geist as I own it and I have been waiting for Winter ever since they announced it. N-Space if your listening, release Winter for the 3DS.

Geist would be cool in 3D, can imagine the effects looking very nice. But yeah, should really do a sequel. The original is somewhat cheesy and budget looking compared to CoD, Halo etc etc.

Better than Timesplitters 2?

I never plaid Geist, mainly due to the mixed reviews and the fact that FPS games aren't usually my thing, but it did look like a good concept at least. I think a remake would be a good idea personally.

I bought Geist. It was an interesting game, but not really worth remaking. They should make a new game.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.
