Paper Mario 3DS Released This Year in Japan? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The last week has seen various rumours and speculation about the 3DS hit the internet. First, we heard about an employee working for peripheral designer, Keys Factory, apparently claiming to know the release date of the console.

We also saw confirmation that 3DSWare will be heading to the console. Now a Japanese newspaper is claiming that Paper Mario 3DS will be released this year, in Japan.

The newspaper, Asahi Shinbun, is the second largest circulation in the archipelago and has ran a feature in its current issue, celebrating Mario's 25th Anniversary. The several pages long feature states that Paper Mario 3DS will be hitting Japan this year. If true, it also coincides with the November release date for the console (in Japan), which was supposedly leaked earlier on in the week.

Lol, meanwhile I'm still on the fence on buying the wii version because there's no price drop for it. I know it's good, but I want it cheap Smilie

If the 3ds version will be just as good or perhaps even better, I'm sure there's a huge market for it.

I will get this definitely.. I'm really hoping the 3DS gets released over here this year. I highly doubt it will ever happen, but I would be so happy if it does.

I can't wait!!!

So I think it's safe to assume that Paper Mario 3DS will likely be a launch title?

The Paper Mario series is actually my favorite RPG series ever. I'm so excited for this! Please be here for Christmas!!

I hope this title sells extremely well. I think that more people should be exposed to Paper Mario - I just know they'd love it! It doesn't get anywhere near the sales it deserves.

"Do a Barrel Roll!"

Can't wait for next week when we'll get the launch dates per region as well as price. Releases for software should soon follow as well.

I hope it is full 3D rather than just looking like a cardboard cutout with just a couple levels of depth.

This is just a port right?

Its good, but not worth full price.

Paper Mario 2 is infinitely better, imho.

Much like "SuperStarSaga" is suppiour to "Partners In Time".

I want to be excited but I read that this text was saying "it will be released for the fiscal year"
meaning from now to March 2011

PS3 is just good for Catherine, Demons souls, Dark Souls, and Folklore

Nope, totally new. One screenshot shows Mario with a Chomp partner.

Also, while I agree that Paper Mario 2 is better than Super Paper Mario, I don't think it's fair to compare them because SPM is clearly a spin-off.

Huh. Well, I personnally like Super Paper Mario better than The Thousand-Year Door and Partners in Time better than Superstar Saga. I guess I'm just weird. Smilie
