Dragon Quest Monsters Update Coming on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Square Enix has confirmed that after selling over 1.4 million copies of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2, a revision is to be released. Not satisfied with notching up yet another million-selling game on the Nintendo DS platform over in Japan, the developer has now announced that it will be attempting to keep fans of the monster-fighting spin-off series happy by bringing out Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 Professional in Spring 2011 for the DS family (possibly including the 3DS by at stage in the Land of the Rising Sun).

This new update to the extremely popular variant on the Pokémon theme, will include even more monsters than before, as well as plenty of new maps to traverse, along with numerous other tweaks that have been suggested by loyal fans.

Hopefully the massive interest in Dragon Quest IX in the US and Europe will mean that by Spring 2011 this new update will be launched in Western territories, as opposed to the original DQM: J2.

Guess we'll get the latest version over here then.

Wow, I didn't know that the DQ series actually had a Pokémon-like spin-off series going on. Smilie Looks interesting but I'll probably go with Pokémon instead. Smilie

PS: How come L18 and L35 both have the title "Stalchild"?
