New Golden Sun: Dark Dawn Clips on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Camelot's long awaited third entry into the Golden Sun franchise hits Japan at the end of October, and shortly after for Europe and the US. Dark Dawn takes place 30 years after The Lost Age, with the Golden Sun's newly released Alchemy bringing new prosperity to the world of Weyard. Yet, as any good storyline goes, a new evil arises, and the children of the first two games' heroes, step up to face it.

The trailers below detail how to use certain Psynergy powers in the field, via Touchscreen usage, and their abilities in battle.

I wonder if they realize the DS can handle sound much better than that. If they do, are they just trying to use the same sounds from the previous games for consistency purposes?

Sorry, but I think it looks hideous. It's like watching an AGB game with some 3D effects... And yes, the sound is terrible.

Its keeping the same style as the previous two games, and same sounds. I think it looks amazing as its the snes styled graphics with just a little bit of 3d rendering. I like the sound as it's being consistent with the previous two game, but I was wondering why they didn't improve the sound of the music, as on the GBA the music had that sound due to the system itself, while that isn't much of a problem for this new one and yet it has the same music.

It does NOT look SNES, except for those battle backgrounds. SNES couldn't handle this... but seriously. Why is there no Basiscape music? I enjoy the old sound effects, but it's like the reduced sound quality for enhanced battle graphics.

Oops, I meant Basiscape quality sound. Games like FFTA2 and Trauma Center: UTK2 had amazing music quality.
