New Videos Explain 3DS Features on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

A pair of videos from the Nintendo Conference held in Japan earlier today explain and demonstrate some of the 3DS's new features.

Playing games in glorious 3D is just one of the things the new console can do. Alongside taking nifty 3D photos using dual cameras, the tech can also be used to create your own Mii from a photo you've taken, and even combine two people into one as part of a suite of different image-based functions.

In the below videos some of Nintendo's right hand ladies explain and demonstrate these various new features and some of the upcoming software for the 3DS.

    OMG, LOL. I'm wondering how the whole Mii thing works, surely they only have a set number of different eyes, noses, mouths, etc. What if they don't have the features to make it look like you..

    Definitely very impressed with the Mii creation, a great idea and hopefully will work for most people. Haven't made any new Mii in ages, so this'll be a refreshing and fun way of putting them together methinks, and a neat way of introducing newbies to the 3DS.

    It should recognise your willy, depending on how its been positioned within the frame. If you've got pubes, it'll probably match the style with hair, if not then bald you will likely be.

    i guess i'll say it first,

    i hope they actually utilize the systems abilities better and more often then they did with DSi.

    i liked the premise of photodojo, i just don't get what more solid attempts or implementations weren't further explored successfully...

    and please please include chat on your games 3DS!!! why tease us with a built in mic!!!

    There is still only 1 camera on the inside, so, while it is best for the 3D image to be taken with the outside cameras, it means no 3D video chat. Not a big deal, but it would have been something neat.

    3D camsex? Smilie Lol jk. All of you were talking about penises. I had to mention it. Also, I doubt if you take a picture of your thing, your Mii will turn out looking like one, but who knows?

    Are these cameras better than the DSi's were? Please tell me they are.

    Look up "Paralax Barrier" its a 3d technique thats been around awhile. But it probably took this long to get screens high-res enough and small/cheap enough for use and for it to look good.

    I imagine it will use facial recognition like the DSi does, so my suggestion would be to draw eyes, nose and a mouth on the little fella.

    Add me on anything. I'm always looking for new friends/opponents/town visitors/chances to appear more popular than I actually am.
