Hudson Keen to do More Mario Party

Mario's scene might be sitting back with a cup of tea or running around grand planets, but his party days might not be over.

You can't have played a multiplayer party game without stumbling on one of the biggest, Hudson's Mario Party series and although it looked like it were dead or on hiatus with the release of Wii Party and departing team members, there may still be life for the long-running series.

In an interview with the developer on their own non-Mario concept, Oops! Prank Party, a simple question was raised: Will there ever be another Mario Party?

We’ll start creating it when we have become certain that we can blow everyone’s minds with a new "surprise"!

Longing for the dice-rolling love? Mario Party 2 is due out on the Virtual Console service shortly.

    No Hudson, bad Hudson!

Make another amazing Bomberman game like Generation or Tournament again, then you're allowed to make Crappy Mario Spin-Off 9.

One day I will be a real life anime.

I am quite happy to see this game return. As long as it becomes very gritty again like Mario Party 2. That was when the series was at it's prime.

Hopefully they go back to those roots. Plus make Shy Guy a playable character already.

Dry Bones can suck my d***!

Would love a Mario Party Anthology - a selection of the past boards and top minigames as one complete game - so over 300 mini-games and at least 40 boards to play on, adapted to one usable system.

I hate this 6 board, ~60 minigame setup, it's so limiting!

    So this.

Would love a Mario Party where you're almost guaranteed to be playing a different mini game every time one comes round.

That's actually a great idea. Go work for Hudson! They need you!

I just hope Mario Pary 9 - let's face it, it will come eventually - is more like Mario Party 2. I'd have to say that it was the strongest of the series. And I'll probably be getting it on VC when it arrives. Smilie

If Mario Party 9 was exactly like this, I would buy it in an instant.

Excessive speculation leads to unrealistic expectations, which ultimately lead to disappointment.

I think the whole board-game theme needs a reshake. It's boring when only one person can roll at a time, why not just have it so several people can take their go at once?
YOU HAVE JUST LOST THE GAME. Sorry. Smilie

Lame idea. Why combine 8 rubbish games into 1? Even Nintendo wouldn't be that tacky, surely. I would rather much prefer a totally new concept like Wii Party, so much more refreshing and less generic than Bumper Balls version 9000.

Mixing all mario party games is not a bad idea, I remember Mario P 1 has some of my fav minigames so Mario P 2 and 3, it is a good idea besides there is a mario party for gba and another for ds, I still waiting for a new one.

    Bring one to 3ds Smilie
PS3 is just good for Catherine, Demons souls, Dark Souls, and Folklore

I disagree. Nintendo has these mini-games on their shelf. Most of them are boring, but there are enough great ones to fill one killer party title.
I've never bought a Mario Party game, but I would consider getting such a 'Best of'.

Maybe a remake of an N64 Mario Party with wifi capabilities, but making a totally new one wouldn't be Nintendo's best move imo.

As long as a new Mario Party does not abuse the Wii "gimmick" I would be fine with it. Same with the DS version. I can recall looking like a moron blowing into my DS mic. I hate hardware gimmicks.

I would also love if this happened.

EDIT: Sorry, quote seems to get messed up when I quote from 3 or more quoted posts. Not sure why this is. Smilie
