Call of Duty Wii Headset Incoming on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Headshot! Owned! B... Yes, it's time to head into the world of online chat. PDP has announced a Call of Duty-compatible headset.

In the forthcoming game Black Ops Wii owners will be able to join the online standard by chatting privately with the use of a nifty headset peripheral. The new device, made by the folks at Performance Designed Products (PDP), includes a nose-cancelling microphone, speaker and volume controls. It’s tethered to the Wii via USB and a neat 10ft cable.

PDP promises compatibility with other speaker-driven games including The Conduit 2 for which the Headbanger Headset was originally planned.

The branded Call of Duty: Black Ops headset is out this October with an RRP of $24.99.

Hope they make it wireless for when Conduit 2 comes out !!!

The original white one looks better.

I like it, would be a lot easier to use than Wii speak. Shame it's not backwards compatible.

What do you mean backwards compatible? As in it only works with the Wii?

Nah, I think he means previous WiiSpeak-compatible games? I assume it will work with those though since it probably utilizes the same IOS as WiiSpeak.

Yeah, I mean that it won't work with games that already use Wii Speak, just the new ones like CoD:Blackops and The Conduit 2.

This means the Headbanger Headset will be using separate IOSes and not the ones which are currently used by WiiSpeak?
