Super Mario Flips Out in DSi Animation from Japan on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

To celebrate Super Mario's 25th Anniversary users of the DSi animation tool Flipnote Studio have crafted a handful of Mario shorts.

The impressive seconds of animation include Peach's reluctance to be saved by Mario, helping his nemesis set traps. Another finds the Mushroom Kingdom crew confronted by Bowser, who's just gagging for a slice of tasty cake. All these were produced using the touch-screen on the DSi/DSi LL, using frame-by-frame animation.

Those are phenomenal!

I tried to animate a ball bouncing and it took me hours...

I can't draw like that with a pencil copying from character images. How the hell can anyone manage that on a DS screen?

Add me on anything. I'm always looking for new friends/opponents/town visitors/chances to appear more popular than I actually am.

Wow... the Mario cake one is phenomenal. Wow, just. Wow!

Love Flipnote though, tried it on a friend's DS and it's a fun tool to use. Still, prefer the homebrew Animatee though.

Really great work. Not even Flip Note Studio can help me with my non-existent art skills.
