Okamiden Dated + Preorder Brush on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Capcom have set a date for the return of the popular Okami series, with the new DS-exclusive sequel out in February.

The follow-up to the unique Playstation 2/Wii game, Okamiden finds Chibiterasu, son of the original protagonist Ameterasu, don the mystical celestial brush once again to stop a new evil from terrorising the land.

The new game will brush up on US soil from March 15, 2011, with an exclusive pre-order incentive for Gamestop customers: the first 20,000 who order in advance receiving a gorgeous celestial brush stylus and screen cleaning wipe.

Something you forgot to mention is that the game is out 3 days later on March 18th in Europe. Smilie

I've still got the first game to finish. Smilie

It's a shame it's coming out around the same time the 3DS is released. It may not get the attention it deserves, with the focus moving away from DS. I'll definitely be getting it at some point though.

Yea, I also have the same worries for the game with the 3DS coming up. It's a shame since it's going to be totally awesome. Anyways, I'm totally pre-ordering this.

Its a good game with a good fan base, im not worried, infact isnt the 3DS DS compatible anyway? I think it'll be a good finally before everyone moves on to the 3DS and remember the DS fondly :3

Yea, of course it's compatible but most people won't be keeping an eye for new DS games or buy them with the 3DS coming up.

Totally agree btw, the DS really is getting a heck of a swansong with Okamiden AND Pokémon Black and White.

Like no wonder Capcom's Japanese style games are selling poorly when their release dates and PR aren't thought out. They can only blame themselves.

Done and dusted - good game, but not great.
