Over 6 Million Mario Sold for DS in Japan on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Japan sure love their Mario, with the plumber taking the crown for the first DS title to sell over 6 million copies.

According to sales data from Enterbrain (via Joystiq), New Super Mario Bros DS topped the 6 million mark on the week ending December 26th with a swanky 6,015,255 lifetime sales in Japan, bringing worldwide sales for the popular platformer to over 24 million copies.

NSMB was fun, but didn't seem as fun as the sprite games. Maybe it was the music or maybe the art style, but I didn't feel like replaying it, so I gave the game to my sister.
