Atlus Radiates New Historia Screens on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Following the announcement of a US release on 22nd February, 2011, Atlus USA has released a new batch of screenshots for the Nintendo DS RPG Radiant Historia, which can be seen in the media folder below. The game does not follow on from Radiata Stories, but is being worked on by Satoshi Takayashiki, the person who came up with the original idea for the PS2 role-playing effort. Additionally, Hiroshi Konishi, who was the lead character designer on that project, returns in the same role, with artwork added to the repertoire now.

Radiant Historia is set in Vancool, a land where men and beasts live together; a land that is divided into five countries. The story focuses on a 19-year-old boy by the name of Stok (Westernised names of characters and places are still to be confirmed - the ones in this news piece are based off the Japanese names), who serves as intelligence bureau employee in Alicetel, one of the countries that is current at war with Gran Org, ruled by Queen Protea. As if war with a neighbouring country was not enough of a problem, Alicetel is currently in the process of turning into a desert wasteland. The game revolves around Stok and his colleagues Rainy and Marco, as they attempt to save a secret agent from Gran Org. Upon being wounded by army soldiers, Stok awakens in Historia, a place where time and space are distorted, and where he meets a group of strange children who transfer the gift of space/time travel to him, allowing him to go between two parallel universes, changing events in order to save his world.

More details about the intriguing storyline of Radiant Historia are expected in the coming weeks, but for now be sure to check out the eight new screenshots added to the media folder below.
