Extended Mario Kart 3DS Trailer from Nintendo World on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Mario and Luigi love to race, and hit the circuits in new mushroom-filled footage of Mario Kart 3DS from Nintendo World 2011.

We had a quick glimpse of the pair in the 3DS line-up video, and now have just over a minute of karting goodness - seeing a traditional banana stained race, a dollop of ink, hungry goombas and splash of the new 3D effects.

What do you think of Mario Kart 3DS - what are you hoping for in the new racer? Would you like to see bikes making a return?

Everything bout it looks good just the character and vehicles could do with some improvement... it like they took them from Mario Kart DS and improved the texture on it... or is it just me?

Mario's hand is stuck together and he has no individual fingers. Smilie

I agree, the karts look a little blocky. But I feel the tracks look about the same as the Wii version. I do like how Mario starts looking in Luigi's direction as Luigi tries to pass Mario.

Meh, Mario Kart never really looks 'great' graphically.

Mario Kart never really seems amazing when it's out on a new console anyway. It'll just be another Mario Kart game to get xD

Bring on the bikes (please)! I hope they put as much effort into this as the Wii version (imo the best outing so far). Does seem to be shaping up pretty nicely, though can benefit with a lil bit more to bring up it to speed visually.

Yea its never been graphically great but come on... put some damn effort into these characters, though the Link model in the new LOZ looks incredibly good.

I agree (about it being the best outing so far), I had so much fun playing online with you and other C3 members. It's easily one of my favourite C3 memories. Smilie

Yes! Bikes should definately make a comeback from Mario Kart wii. There's one thing I hope never returns and thats the spinout and knockdown time when you get hit by items. In the wii version it was ridiculous when you got hit.

Ya I agree, your playing 150cc and your in first place, you get hit with a turtle or spinout a banana, your now in 7th or 8th place, absolutley rubbish but fun too >Smilie

At least when you get hit there should be a chance for you to recover more easily if you press a button at the right time (kind of like when you fall off the edge).

Graphically, let's be honest, you will never see Mario's face or fingers while racing, so why even bother? As long as the tracks look decent and the gameplay is good.

Bring back snaking, it was fun on the DS.

The game looks OK, wasn't expecting anything spectacular.

Miyamoto told me this game will have spaceship and plants like Diddy Kong Racing, also 2 player campaign like Doddy Kong Racing LOL!

I hope that this Mario Kart has a fast pace to it like in 64. DS and Wii left you "putt putting" around and getting wrecked by items.

I also want to see an option for a number of laps. I loved doing 9 laps in Double Dash.

Mario, Mega Man and Rayman FTW!!!

Noooooo snaking was HORRIBLE, pretty much ruined the online mode (as well as cheaters) the Wii's method or Super Circuits method for boosting around corners was much better as you couldn't spam it but it still relied on a bit of skill get a boost.
Looking at the footage I don't see mario or luigi steering there wheel back and forth to get there blue sparks to it's looking like it isn't there (THANK FUCK!)
As for the graphics, they look fine to me and I will take a rock solid frame rate (hopfully 60fps) over more detail any day.

Ah yes, the Mario fist pump of victory.

I didn't see any tricks like in the Wii version of the franchise, but maybe they chose not to show it. The graphics on here look awesome, *sigh* but most of these trailers are just more of the same thing I've been playing for years.

Don't get me wrong they look fabulous (lol fabulous), but it'd be nice to see something different in these awesome franchises.
