Nintendo of Europe is bringing 3D to Amsterdam this week, confirming pricing and plans to bring the new Nintendo 3DS to the continent.
After scoffing down a buffet and being engrossed in the hotel surroundings, we’ve sat down to finally hear concrete plans for new hardware outside of Japan. First off, a release date. You’ll be pleased to know (or not, if there’s not enough pennies in the piggie) that the Nintendo 3DS is out on March 25th 2011 in Europe, two days before the US.
An official RRP wasn't mentioned, however Nintendo mentioned "retailers have already set their pricing" - so expect to pay anything from £150 - £250 (going by conversion rates) and fierce competition between stores.
There’ll be two colour flavours at launch, the rather swanky Aqua Blue edition sitting alongside the Cosmo Black variety. Inside the package you’ll get the usual instructional material, a handful of augmented reality cards and 3DS accessories to get you going.
As for the games... During the launch period European 3DS adopters can grab hold of the following titles to enjoy in glorious 3D:
