Nintendo of America's Bill Trinen has confirmed that players can pop their Wii Mii collection onto 3DS, but not in reverse.
The upcoming 3D powerhouse borrows and expands on a handful of ideas from both the Wii and DS, including the ability to create virtual Mii avatars. This time round the 3DS's cameras play a vital and fun part of the creative process, letting owners snap up their friends into digital counterparts with ease.
The facial features and other character data present in the 3DS Mii isn't available on the Wii (unless Nintendo decide to update in the future), so only Wii Mii can be read on the 3DS, and not the other way round.
