Birds Get Angry With Nintendo 3DS on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Developer Rovio Mobile has confirmed that three Angry Birds games will be available to download on the 3DS eShop.

The puzzle/action game was released on Apple's App store back in 2009 and has since become a cult hit, topping 50 Million downloads across multiple platforms. Now the pig-hungry birds are on the way to Nintendo's 3DS.

3DS site 3DSFocus asked the studio whether the release would be new, or a port - and since has confirmed that Angry Birds and its sequels, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio would be available.

Angry Birds is also heading to Wii later this year.

Are you a fan of the series? Will you be picking it up on the 3DS?

will be trying this when my android arrives, if i like it then i'll get it, in 3D!

Hmm, massively over-rated game. Nintendo's Birds and Bombs on DSiWare is just as good, IMO.

I heard Angry Birds may even be turned into a cartoon show Smilie Smilie

Angry Birds Rio is suppose to become a movie first I believe, but I also heard there was an animated series in the works as well. Crazy.

Side note, with Reggie voicing his concerns over the relatively cheap prices in the mobile gaming market, how much are they going to try and charge us for the 3DS versions of Angry Birds? It better be in 3D if it's going to cost me some money.

I would at least like to try it, before I write it off. It does look like one of those flash-style games though, which fail to keep me interested for more than a minute.

Unexpectedly, I've recently been playing Plants vs Zombies on my DS and it's quite a nice little title (more so in short bursts). It reminds me of Ninja Town, which I also enjoyed.

I'm not saying it's bad, but it's basically a stripped down version of Worms - simply choose a trajectory and fire your Angry Bird off to destroy strange pig things. The types of Bird available varies later into the game (such as ones that can be split into smaller pieces mid-flight), but it becomes very repetitive, very quickly...and that was getting the free 'Lite' edition! It's going to have to be considerably expanded on 3DSWare, unless there is an equivalent pricing scheme to the '200 Nintendo Points' one on DSiWare.

If it's like Worms, I definitely wouldn't like it. I've never liked those games and I can't see Angry Birds being any better than the Worms franchise, so it has no chance with me.

3 versions of the exact same game.....now that's overkill for an over rated series.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

Heh so much negativity here, it's one of the best games, on the app store that managed to actually hold my attention, it's a lot of fun.
Great characters, silly and funny, didn't know about the movie but that little trailer they made for the game was pretty good ha ha.

Great game and deserves the success imo I'll definitely be checking it out on 3DS or WiiWare.

You know how it goes though. If it's iPhone/facebook famous, it's movie material!! Smilie
