Famitsu magazine this week revealed a new 3DS/PSP RPG designed by key people who have worked on the likes of Shining Force and Idolmaster.
Known as UnchainBlades ReXX the new portable RPG revolves around a world populated by monsters who start life as humans. As the humans grow older they sprout wings, claws and other unsightly things to become adult monsters, except for one chap who is now human forever - the king of dragons, Fang.
He was the most powerful of all the land, but he angered Goddess Kryunia, who then reverted him back to human form, forever. Fang teams up with other young monsters, still in their human ways, to overcome the towering, huge living dungeon known as Titan. Clear the test and Kryunia might just rethink her decision.
UnchainBlades ReXX has been designed by around 14 illustrators, including pako (Shining Force), Haruyuki Morisawa (Dream Club), Toshiyuki Kubooka (Idolmaster), Kazushi Hagiwara, Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi, Kumichi Yoshizuki, Nami Hidaka, Suu Minazuki, and Sunaho Tobe.
The game's scenario is being lead by Takashi Hino (Shining Force EXA, Grandia II) and theme tune composed by Square legend Nobuo Uematsu.
The battle system is fairly common to turn based RPGs, though uses a party of four rather than three. The key difference is that each of your members can have up to five followers who help out in battle - essentially making up a possible 20-strong army against the Titan's monsters.
Both versions are due out June 23rd in Japan.
