Sadistic 3DS Commerical Promotes AR on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Augmented Reality is all the rage with the release of the 3DS in Japan, and Nintendo want to highlight that with a TV advertising.

Here we have a rather harmless table full of everyday objects - a mug, pot of pens and a fruit bowl, and coupled with an AR card you can place your Mii characters in this environment. Lovely! Ah, but then comes the dreaded cactus and you can see where this is going... It's probably his mum. It even has him standing there proud and winking!

Well it's not all that sadistic, but certainly one of the swanky things you can do with your Mii collection and everyday household objects!

Where would you place your Mii with the 3DS's augmented reality?

Video is not working for me. Is there a direct link to the source?

Can't seem to play the video either. Smilie

It was working earlier, I'll try to find the source.

Edit: Found it on Youtube Smilie.

I wonder if people in Japan look at our commercials with the same dumbfounded fascination that we have for their's.

The former top user was Keven! You'd probably give birth to yourself 1000 times over until you sprout wings to fly away into the fading sun, that or you'd just turn into a lesbian. Who knows @_@ - L, 12/06/09

Probably not. Just like they don't fancy all our stuff like many Otaku's outside of Japan do. Smilie

I thought it was going to be interactive: that would have been incredible and video-worthy.

Add me on anything. I'm always looking for new friends/opponents/town visitors/chances to appear more popular than I actually am.

I dare say I can't imagine Japanese people looking at our commercials in the same way, "those Americans are dummerer than us" they would say, mockingly.

Press 1 to have her sit on the cactus. Press 2 to have her sit on a pencil. Press 3 to have her drowning in the mug. Brilliant!
