The developer of Fez for XBLA has confirmed he has no intention of bringing it to Nintendo's WiiWare download service. Speaking in a brief chat at PAX East, Phil Fish, the game's co-creator, spoke extremely negatively about Nintendo's Wii download service.
When asked about bringing the 2D-game-meets-3D-world, he said:
Right now we're only concentrating on XBLA, which makes the most sense for us at the time. PC and PSN would also make a lot of sense, but in my opinion, WiiWare just wouldn't be worth our time and effort. It's a dismal system that I don't want to deal with neither as a customer, nor a developer. No demos? F*ck off.
He is aware that Nintendo offers demo versions of games nowadays, but apparently because only certain games receive a demo, and one that only has a limited time on WiiWare anyway, Mr. Fish cannot be convinced.
Talking about the Nintendo 3DS, he added:
As for the 3DS, well, that would just have to be a completely different game. If I'm going to make a game that uses stereoscopic graphics, it's gonna be built from the ground up for that. Oh wait! I already did that. http://polytroncorporation.com/games/super-hypercube wink-wink nudge-nudge.
Are you disappointed that Fez will not be landing on WiiWare, and would you like to see it on 3DS?
