April Fool - Zelda Crossbow Training 3D Confirmed for 3DSWare (3DS) on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

You've been fooled (...or not) This was one of our three April fools posted on April 1st. Nintendo will not be releasing a version of Link's Crossbow Training for 3DS, for now. Were you fooled? Do tell!

----------

Nintendo has announced a port of Link's Crossbow Training as a launch title for the upcoming 3DSWare service on 3DS.

As well as confirming "Twilight Mode" for Ocarina of Time 3D, Nintendo also announced The Legend of Zelda: Crossbow Training 3D as the first downloadable 3DSWare game. Unlike past WiiWare and DSiWare, the Nintendo 3DS has a far larger limit given the ability to run software off SD/SDHC cards. The new game is essentially a straightforward port of the Wii version with improved controls and extra levels!

According to Japanese magazine Famitsu, Zelda God Shigeru Miyamoto relished the potential for Capcom’s Resident Evil: The Mercenaries so felt to bring a similar concept over to the 3DS.

Like the Wii edition you’ll venture through a series of Hylian locations, shooting moving targets, enemies and those tough old Gorons in a bid to rack up points and combos.

There’ll be various play methods available, including an easy mode where the game switches onto the touch-screen, regular stylus driven controls and compatibility with the 3DS cameras. Apparently you can also stick out your tongue towards the inner camera or make farting sounds to shoot. Nintendo also confirmed online simultaneous play, local wireless and extra levels not present in the original.

Touch screen control is a bit unusual here, why not just use the 3DS inner camera, surely? I like the bottom screen view much better than the top view. Can't wait! Hope they add lots more levels as the original was lacking content.

YES! I loved the Wii one even though the Zapper was only working with this and Resident Evil. Going to get this on 3DS too now thanks Nintendo!

I absolutely loved the Wii game (which I bought new for €10).
I wonder how the controls will work out... Smilie

Wait! April Fools? Smilie

you are trying too hard, to get people. today. now when you guys did one news post, that was huge, then you did better. like you should've done another contest, and have it worldwide, for a real good prize.

When all is bad don't look for a easy way out. Because you wont know what to do once your out

April fools! LOL

This isn't even funny. An April Fool's announcement should either be news that people love or hate. But news about a downloadable Link's Crossbow Training will just make people feel indifferent.

Well you hate it. I'm guessing others will find it interesting or amusing - new game announcements aren't for everyone...

Well this could cool if used in an actual Zelda game as an AR mini game.

Fuck you, April Fool's. Oh and just a little reminder, for those who don't know the true April Fool's Day rules. All pranks end after 12pm. So this can only be known as an April Fail.

April fools!

I don't think I can trust Cubed3 anymore. I mean, who knows how long this so called "April Fools' Day" will last?

Maybe it's a dream within a dream, possibly within another dream?

Remember the X-Files? TRUST NO ONE! Smilie I don't even trust myself Smilie

This was another I wasn't sure of...until I checked out the use for the touch-screen and thought it looked odd.

It'd be a cool idea, though - a 3D archery game...don't you think?
