Capcom Celebrates Resident Evil

Popular survival horror Resident Evil turned 15 last month and Capcom have released an anniversary montage to celebrate.

It's been over a decade and a half since Capcom and designer Shinji Mikami unleashed the series with Resident Evil on Sony's PlayStation. Since then six main titles, alongside whole basket full of spin-offs, portable entries and Hollywood flicks, have satisfied an ever-growing fanbase.

In the next year or two Resident Evil: The Mercenaries and the exclusive Resident Evil: Revelations are both gracing the 3DS. There'll also be HD renditions of Code: Veronica X, Resident Evil 4 and Operation: Raccoon City.

Awesome video! My all time favorite RE game is RE4 however the old games are still classics!

Same here. I think the controls/camera for the first couple of games makes them eh... not so great these days.

Absolutely cannot wait for Mercs 3D and Revelations. Operation Racoon City sounds pretty cool too.

Happy 15th anniversary Resident Evil... it doesn't even seem like it's been 15 years. Smilie

Discovering a game that no one would have thought would fit on a cartridge being released for the N64 : Resident Evil 2 Smilie.

Chance favors the prepared mind.

Meh, Resident Evil is old and pointless. It has run it's course. Let it die now, please.

Zelda, Mario and Metroid are older... flawed logic is flawed.

Add me on anything. I'm always looking for new friends/opponents/town visitors/chances to appear more popular than I actually am.

It hasn't run it's course at all. I could say the same thing about Final Fantasy, Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Pokémon, Kirby, etc. Doesn't mean any of it is true.

There are still tons of Resident Evil fans out there, wanting more and more games from Capcom. Considering it's one of the most successful survival horror series out there and it's still growing strong, I don't think it has run its course.

It's still a fun series & the drastic change that RE4 gave it will add about 15 years or so to the series life span...I'd rather have a new RE4 style game on Wii than a cashin HD remake....no thanks on that Capcom but I will be getting Merc3D & Revilations.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422
