6th Professor Layton Title in Development on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Level-5's CEO, Akihiro Hino, has announced that the company are currently developing a sixth entry into Professor Layton series. Hino announced it through his Twitter account and it was then translated by Andriasing.

The series is already two games ahead in Japan, with Western gamers still waiting for the fourth and fifth titles, a DS title and a 3DS title respectively. Hino-san did not say whether the sixth instalment will be heading to the DS or 3DS, but presumably it will be on the latter.

Hino-san also tweeted about the success of the series and how well it's sold. It's taken over four years, but apparently Professor Layton and The Curious Village has finally crossed the one million sales mark in Japan.

Release Ninokuni in Europe already !!

We don't even have 4 yet and they're already starting on 6. The translators need to work harder. xD

I hope that 4 is ported to 3DS so we can get that before 5 since I seem to recall that Nintendo's publishing agreement for the games ended with Unwound Future.

I'm pretty sure 4 will be released for the DS. They may port it to 3DS, but I doubt it.

They might be wise to stick 4 on 3DSWare if the filesizes would allow it, depending on when they choose to release it.
