Introducing GamerLikes - Wii, 3DS, DS, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC Coverage - Every 5 Minutes! on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Catching up on video game news across many sites can be a hassle, so we've made it easier to find recent and popular updates!

Back in 2009 we launched MyGamesFeed as a site which collected video game news, videos and podcasts. Since then with the rise of Facebook as a leading social platform, we decided to blend the two together to form GamerLikes.

By compiling content feeds from over fifty websites, including IGN, GameSpot, Eurogamer, CVG, Siliconera, Kotaku, Joystiq, Destructoid, Cubed3 and many more expert sources, we are able to update with new links to top content every five minutes.

Coverage includes: Nintendo Wii, DS, 3DS, Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, PSP, NGP and PC.

Popular content is based on "Like" data pulled directly from Facebook, with the top ten headlines for each platform selected by fans on a global basis.

C3 is multi-platform tbh, they just only post news about Nintendo. I like it just the way it is. This is possibly the best place for getting Nintendo news, reviews, previews, etc.

I'll go elsewhere if I need to read up on any other news. Smilie

Never seen an official C3 review of a PS3 game. What goes on in the forums reflects the kind of people who use the website, not the content published on the front page, in the reviews sections, etc. Most people who use C3 seem to be multiplatform.

Fair dos. I'd like C3 to go properly multiplatform for mostly very selfish reasons. The most recent Nintendo product I use is a DSi. Hate the Wii, I think it's completely shit. I still say it's an over-clocked GC with a new controller. I see nothing to suggest otherwise. Not even Mario and his skyboxeriffic Galaxy games. Skyward Sword is also looking remarkably similar to TP from a tech-standpoint.

GC was a fab piece of kit back in '02, but it pretty much sucked in the games department, with only a handful of great games when compared to the competition. So anyways, since whenever I ditched my GC, I have not been that interested in Nintendo home console coverage.

Unfortunately, I've been here for a long time now. I selfishly want C3 to reflect my gaming interests because I feel like I've invested a lot of time into the site over the years, only to to become disinterested in it's subject matter. So there's the selfish, irrational part of it.

Then there's the fact that I believe going truly multiplatform would improve the site no end. It would attract more writers, which C3 desperately needs. In my opinion, the quality of writing has to be called into question.

The biggest thing I note almost every time I read any official C3 coverage of anything is how damn biased it is, and/or hypocritical of previous statements. C3 staffers will oppose the oft-mentioned "Wii is for kids" or such-like. Then a Resident Evil game or No More Heroes comes out, and C3 gushes with headlines like "Wii Goes Gory/Bloody/Insert Random Synonym for 'Adult'". It's hilarious.

C3 had a field-day on the run-up to Manhunt 2 Wii, then pan gory games on other consoles for being 'dingy', 'generic', or somehow 'childish' for their attempts at similar things. That right there is a contradiction, and from the outside looking in, a random person would assume that there are some hard feelings about not receiving many adult-oriented games.

This wouldn't be the case if C3 were multiplatform. I don't expect it ever to happen, but I'd like it to. The forums are great, the main site.. not so much. It all looks fabulous, works great, and you have some awesome features. It's just the rather extreme levels of bias in the actual writing. Sometimes it's so bad that it's palpable.

C3 culls all of it's news from bigger sites. I don't think I've ever seen C3 get the scoop on any news. You will always see external links to sources on C3 news items, because this website is not privately-funded to the extent of employing professional journalists. Jeebs pays site fees, and cajoles a random bunch of guys into doing the writing.

So from a news perspective, C3 merely acts as a 'Nintendo filter', sifting through reams of shit in order to pick out only things related to Nintendo. They then add their dose of bias, and the resultant comments field below most of these postings are truly facepalm-worthy.

Let's take that Jack Tretton thing. I have no love for the guy, nor any kind of corporate bullshit. Any time that man opens his mouth in an official-capacity for Sony, all that comes out is corporate garbage. Just like Reggie. Just like that other guy that talks bullshit about Xbox.

An objective person draws the above conclusion. What C3 has done instead is paint a picture of Tretton is some kind of especially dim-witted corporate troll who's worse than the others, and has backed this up with a tiny excerpt from said interview, making it look a lot worse than it actually was. The comments field is filled with tweens essentially going "Yeah! Screw you non-Nintendo person!".

Either A) C3 staffers do not actually read news that they're posting, or B) there's an agenda going on.

I will stop beating my gums, now Smilie

You do know the original article from CNN picked that out as the main point? by having the title as: "PlayStation chief: Nintendo makes 'babysitting tools'".

I'm certainly not biased either. I just happen to enjoy Nintendo's games more than others. I have a Playstation 3 and I have games I love on it, like Uncharted 2 and Flower. I picked out mostly the parts about Nintendo, because this is a Nintendo site, there's nothing I can do about that. I even gave Microsoft a mention, because he spoke about Kinect negativity and also how the 360 is not a relevant system in 2011.

In the future, I'll try and improve and put more thought into my news posts. Thanks for your feedback.

I would be more likely to use this if I could also 'hate' things, for example every single Kotaku story. In fact I would pay for a premium service to automatically hate certain categories on my behalf.

My ideas are free for you to use and I'm here all week.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

I think Mush was being literal - C3 is multi-platform technically (Wii, DS, 3DS), it just so happens that all those platforms are Nintendo formats. Smilie

I think you highlight a key reason why we're not multiplatform right there - we don't have enough writers to do it. The number of Nintendo-only sites grew when everybody hopped on the Wii bandwagon, but that field of competition is still smaller than stretching ourselves thin against a myriad of multiformat sites; and let's face it, most people probably go to Eurogamer for things like that anyhow.

The biggest thing I note almost every time I read any official C3 coverage of anything is how damn biased it is, and/or hypocritical of previous statements. C3 staffers will oppose the oft-mentioned "Wii is for kids" or such-like. I don't think that's quite true. Some staff members may not like 'adult' games of the type more commonly found on the HD twins, but I wouldn't generalise that feeling as being C3's standpoint. I also wouldn't say we're biased - certainly not an intent - it's just that Nintendo is the clear focal point.

I don't think I've ever seen C3 get the scoop on any news.

    - Tingle DS's European release.
    - Inazuma Eleven's European release.
    - The existence of a new Pang.
    - Fatal Frame IV coming to Europe (this was later cancelled).
    - PEGI comments on We Dare.

Off the top of my head from the last couple of years - there are plenty more over the years, and there are other things that have been 'discovered' that we've been politely asked to keep a lid on for the time being, such as Dead or Alive: Dimensions' release plans recently. Perhaps not as many as you'd like, nor in areas that interest you too much, but to say we don't break any news isn't true.
