Unconfirmed: Sonic and Mario Competing in London 2012? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

An unconfirmed logo suggests that a new Mario & Sonic game is on the way. Could the pair be competing in London town next year?

According to unconfirmed boxart found by TSSZ, Sonic, Mario and friends will be breaking out their mud-stained sneakers once again and competing in a series of Olympic events as part of the London 2012 Olympics.

SEGA has had phenomenal sales for both Olympic titles - the first of which themed for the last worldwide games in Beijing 2008.

Image for Unconfirmed: Sonic and Mario Competing in London 2012?Also in the rumour mill is a potential logo for the Xbox 360/PS3 Sonic Anniversary project Sonic Generations. It's not quite Nintendo related, but of course we couldn't resist a Sonic story! The previous trailer brought new and old together with "retro" Sonic dashing into action alongside his more recent green-eyed incarnation.

It's uncertain whether either are true logos, or if the Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is true, but both are highly likely to be legit.

It's uncertain whether either are true logos, or if the Mario & Sonic at the London 2010 Olympic Games is true, but both are highly likely to be legit.

Don't you mean 2012? Smilie

Both look pretty legit, I'm sure generations is real plus SEGA wouldn't pass up milking the next Olympics. Oooh, can't wait to see how they render good ol' London town :O

Isn't talking about a 360/PS3 game a bit off topic? I recall one time the idea for spreading MM: Universe's announcement was put to the side due to it not being on Wiiware.

Hypocrisy imo.
