European Box Art Revealed for Ocarina of Time 3D

European Box Art Revealed for Ocarina of Time 3D on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Amazon UK have recently updated their listing for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and it now features the official European box art.

The artwork featured on the front of the cover was shown last week on a Japanese teaser site for the game. In comparison to the American box art, Europe's looks a lot more colourful and shows Link riding on Epona across Hyrule Field. Instead, the US box art comes with a golden cover and has a simpler looking design.

It also follows the trend from The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, since the European versions of those games also featured different box artwork.

Yay I love this cover! I'd happily hang that artwork as a poster in my room.

It's really different, not at all like other Zelda boxart. And it makes, the once seemingly massive, Hyrule look a lot smaller. But it's really cool, I like it.

Once again, America is stuck with crap boxart.

I like the US box art better. Ocarina of Time should be gold. However, the box art better be shiny or holographic or have some special effect that blinds you from 50 feet away.

That said, the European box art is nice too, especially the artwork. It's just not Ocarina of Time (to me).

I made a mockup of the classic gold/black EU N64 Zelda. To be honest, even though the new art looks beautiful, there's something about the classic 'just a logo' box art designs that appeal to me. Just like with EU Final Fantasy box arts, they give off that epic 'you know this game is going to be awesome' vibe. I don't know why, but I guess that's just what I've become accustomed to with Zelda and FF games. Be nice if we could have a reversable cover with this one though:

The EU box is very lovely to look at. I'm glad they didn't go with the 'logo only' look like the original. Final Fantasy has stylish logo's whereas Zelda's aren't really good enough to be the sole feature on the cover.
