Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS Deku Tree Footage on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Direct footage from the opening dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D has emerged. Enter, the Deku Tree!

A dollop of nostalgia or something completely new as hero Link ventures into his guardian's spider-infested body in order to save the Great Deku Tree from the clutches of the diabolical Ganondorf, learning the dungeon ropes at the same time.

The 3DS version boasts revamped character and environment textures, alternative Gyro control, bonus content and of course the ability to view the entire adventure in 3D.

Ocarina of Time 3D is out June 16th in Japan, 17th in Europe followed by 19th in North America.

This is a bit of a minor thing, but I don't like the new text font, it looks like basic Arial.

"OMG a treasure chest! *opens it* a Heart Piece? what the sh*t this, you made me jump all the way here just for a heart piece?*

I want to actually get my hands on this and see it in 3d before I decide whether or not to get a 3ds. It looks great but I'm still not 100% on it.

Think I might just wait for an original Zelda 3DS really. OOT was/is a great game, but I've played it before. Would maybe get it for cheap just to see how the 3D is and how it controls though Smilie

Exactly what I thought when I opened that chest for the first time. Smilie Too bad I still had to jump there everytime for the Golden Skulltula though. :/

@Marzy: I never even gave the text font a second look. Generally I don't care about it as long as it's easily readable.

Yes exactly, it might be readable on a larger screen but on a handheld screen like the 3DS it's crucial that they can make it readable for everyone, I like it.

Is it me, or does the ticking when Link has to jump over the three platforms sound different?

Sounds the same bro.

Still say that company should've spent more time on polish & bump map textures. I'm gonna get & enjoy this game thoroughly...but I can already hear graphic whores moan & cry about how this game looks exactly like the N64 version...

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

There'll always be people who moan and cry about something, regardless of what they do. If they did much more than this, people would complain that it strays too far from the original style. Heck, there are already some moaning because the lighting is different saying that it completely fails to capture the feel of the original or whatever.

You simply can't please everyone. The funny thing is that so many people still demand just that. Smilie
