New Zelda 3DS Master Quest Trailer on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

If you've been wondering how The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Master Quest differs from the original game, look no further, because there's now a comparison video to show you. The trailer brings the two side by side showing the multiple different enemies, plus the fact that the land of Hyrule is now mirrored to the original.

Also to do with Master Quest, according to GoNintendo, Enemies will now do double the damage to Link as you fight through hordes of them.

Some new screenshots have also come into play with GoNintendo also reporting some new information on improvements made to the game, specifically speaking; the Water Temple.

Besides the easier to select Iron boots, paths will now be easier to find thanks to florescent pictures on the walls. There's also mode that won't be in the Master Quest called Visions.

These Visions can be accessed via Sheika Stones, which are larger versions of the Gossip Stones found in the original. You can now not only access the time, but new players can now get a clue as to what to do next. This is done by giving 3-5 short clips loosely demonstrating where to go or what to do and according to GameXplain are not a walkthrough and do not contain spoilers.

Another mode much talked about is the new Boss Rush mode. This is apparently unlocked after defeating each Boss again within 'Links Memories' which are accessed by going to our hero's bed for a nap. Both Links Memories and the Boss Rush mode are timed with the latter giving you a power up in between fights.

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina Of Time 3D is out this June on the 17th in the EU and the 19th in North America.

This is the first time I read something that makes me want to play this remake. Smilie

Was that the cover of The Wind Waker in Japan? Looks totally badass tbh. Smilie Oddly enough, I can't seem to remember some scenes shown here from Master Quest, like fighting two Wolfos as Young Link. Then again, I've only played through it once so far so it may just be my mind playing dirty again. Smilie

One thing that should have definitely been mentioned in the article is that in Master Quest, enemies do DOUBLE damage according to the article on GoNintendo. That's a pretty huge deal for us veterans if you ask me. Smilie

Ah yes, I'll put that in right away...

And yeah, I put that picture in the Screens section for the game since it would've made the article massive. It shows the florescent walls I mentioned.

All in all it's looking great.

Wow that looks terrifying lol Smilie

Is it going to be the same masterquest as the gamecube version?

Actually it's apparently a lot harder than the original MQ, like SirLink said, enemies do Double Damage.

Plus there looks to be more enemies on screen at once, as well as the world being mirrored (I mentioned all this in the article).

Nice! This new trailer has made me much more excited. I can see MQ being a pain since you may forget it's mirrored xD

Exactly. Even though we know that it's mirrored, it'll still be disorienting at times.

Btw, is anyone else excited about playing through this harder Master Quest with only 3 hearts? Smilie

Am more excited for this now, MQ does seem interesting - will defo give it a go.

Don't see what the fuss is with the Water Temple really, is definitely not as hard as people make it out to be - Wind Waker had far more challenging dungeons. The only thing I found annoying in the Water Temple was that room under the central pillar, finding that was a bitch even with the compass/map. Aside from that it's a pretty standard dungeon really!

That's the only thing I found challenging, I don't get why people say it's hard either. I guess florescent walls may help guide the way for beginners though.

I found the Ice temple in the Dark World of Alttp more challenging than the Water temple.

O_o
Wind Waker hardly had any global dungeon puzzles at all...it was pretty much all room puzzles.

What "hard bit" were you thinking of? (talking of puzzles here, not enemys, etc)

Wind Waker had a dungeon that had me stuck for a few months. It was about having to fall from a high place to break through a giant fan on the ground, if I remember correctly. The hardest part about Zelda puzzles is if you don't figure out something immediately, you go through every room in the dungeon to see if you missed something and it becomes very annoying.

Just thought I'd share here too (also posted at the OOT thread).

7 minutes of gameplay, mostly Deku Tree, and a tiny bit of Adult Link at the end. Runs very smoothly.
