E311 Media | CGI Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D Advert on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

With days to go before the highly anticipated release of the 3DS version of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, a CGI advert has begun airing!

Gorgeous models of Link, Ganondorf and Zelda in tear-jerking and potentially spoiler-ridden moments from the classic 1998 adventure! A dollop of nostalgia as the Hero of Time battles the devious Gerudo King in a bid to save the beautiful land of Hyrule from doom.

Not representative of in-game graphics. Despite the teeny disclaimer, cheeky Nintendo, cheeky!

The 3DS version is due out June 19th in North America, 17th in Europe, 16th in Japan and finally June 30th in Australia.


 

On a side-note, the single re-orchestrated track for the game has been revealed. Curious? See the spoiler below for more details.

What do you think about the ad - should CGI be used to promote games / being passed off as in-game footage (despite the on-screen disclaimers)?

The trailer sort of reminds me of the commercials for Oracle of Ages and Seasons back in the days. I remember at least the seasons part in CG in that commercial.

The image shows up for me (I'm using Firefox 4 on Win7 x64, dunno if that's relevant information to help sort out the problem which some people seem to be having)
