E311 Media | Zelda: Skyward Sword Full Wii Trailer on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo revealed additional details and a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword during the E3 presentation today.

The new adventure, pitched as a prequel to the events of Ocarina of Time sees a familiar Link living high above in the skies and in order to venture below the hero climbs aboard noble birds with his female chum. According to Nintendo, the framework will open up a less traditional approach - "into and back to dungeons and areas they've already completed". There'll also be a wider variety of items that can be upgraded.

MotionPlus is fully integrated, as revealed in previous trailers, mapping every slice, jab and hook onto the screen, also weaving its way into new puzzle mechanics to challenge even the most seasoned Zelda veteran!

Tbh, watching this trailer made my hype meter for Skyward Sword explode. I had it stored all inside me so that I didn't completely freak out but I just can't hold back. Smilie

I'm still totally amazed by the artstyle and how AWESOME Link looks. Smilie Oh and the orchestrated music, new gameplay, puzzles. *drool*

There is no way this isn't going to be my personal GOTY.

It's still pretty secretive, which is good. I still know bugger all about the story or anything else. It would be nice to know nothing more until the game comes out. Miyamoto said we will be pleased, it's full of everything, expansive. Hopefully that's true. Hopefully it's not piss easy either.

You actually have to use some tactic now while fighting even normal enemies which means no more 1. Use item that reveals weak point 2. Mash B 3. Is it dead yet? If not rinse and repeat. Even IF it's easy which I think it's not going to be, that alone makes fighting much more engaging than before.

Puzzles seem to be much more creative, varying and quite possibly challenging too. It's really looking good so far. I'd go as far as saying that Skyward Sword could just very well be Zelda's Super Mario Galaxy.

Yeah, this + Free four swords made up for the new console stuff Smilie

Is Four Swords an online game?

No idea, really. I'm still rather confused what it actually is. Is it a new game? The one that came with the ALttP remake for the GBA OR Four Swords Adventures on the Gamecube.

I REALLY wish it has online multiplayer. I'd gladly pay full price for it then even though it's free.

FS w/ LttP is the only FS game I couldn't play because I had the US version and my mate and brother both had the EU version. I just HAD to buy it early, didn't I? Smilie

But yeah, would be nice to be a brand new game too.

I have Four Swords with ALttP too and never got to play it because no one else had the game. Smilie And now when there's download play with the 3DS, I don't know anyone else with a 3DS! Smilie

It's strange how Link in-game looks nothing like his badass artwork. I kinda want the next Link to be more like the OOT Link artwork.

Or one more akin to the LttP/LA/Oracles Link.

My excitement level just went up for this! I wasn't that excited by the original showing of it, but this looks brilliant! Smilie

This will be the third Zelda game I play, and it looks very tasty! I'll just have to go buy a motion plus :p

If you don't need a MotionPlus atm, hold up for the new Golden Wii Remote+, it looks sweeeet!
