E311 Media | New Kirby Wii Supports 4 Players, E3 Trailer on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Kirby and pals return to the Wii in a traditional platforming adventure, and Nintendo revealed more footage from the new game during E3 2011.

The pink puffball sets out to help a bunch of aliens who have crash landed in the peaceful world of Pop Star. Unfortunately their spaceship has shattered across the land and so Kirby must retrieve the parts and help his new friends return home.

Our hero is not alone this time as Kirby Wii now supports up to 4 players - with others joining in as... wait for it, Meta Knight, King Dedede and Waddle Dee. Together players collect Point Stars, Ability Stars with the ability to swap in and out at any time.

Kirby returns to his roots with the ability to inhale and transform into enemies, including:

  • Sword: Kirby dons a green cap and wields a sword.
  • Beam: Kirby wears a jester hat and can shoot energy from a magic wand.
  • Whip: Kirby wears a cowboy hat and can lasso enemies.
  • Leaf: Kirby is surrounded by a whirlwind of leaves.

    The game is in development by HAL Laboratory and out this Fall.

    I hope the music ends being a bit more catchy than this cute tune. Kirby Super Star Ultra had one of the most awesome soundtrack ever composed, so I expect no less than that from a Kirby from now on.
