E311 | Ninja Gaiden 3 Using Touch-Screen Controls on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Tecmo Koei's Team Ninja has confirmed it will be using touch-screen controls for Ninja Gaiden 3 on Wii U, with a control option that works in a similar way to how the excellent Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword on Nintendo DS handled.

The Wii U version of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge will be somewhat more unique than the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, thanks to the Wii U controller's additional features, although a traditional control set-up will also be up for grabs.

It was almost like fate that we're making making Ninja Gaiden 3 and then we have the option to bring in Dragon Sword controls, that kind of gameplay, to a high spec console version. We feel we'll be able to give players a new kind of gameplay, a new feel with the new controller.
- Yosuke Hayashi, Head of Team Ninja.

Whilst Tecmo Koei has yet to give Ninja Gaiden 3 on Wii U a release date, the other console versions are set for "early 2012" at the moment.

Did you enjoy Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword enough to be pleased that the control set-up will be an option on Wii U?

Liked Dragon Song but don't know if they're referring to Dragon Sword controls when the game is being streamed to the controller or all the time.
