E311 | Telltale Not Making Wii U Promises on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Telltale Games has had great success on Wii and WiiWare, but is so far only thinking about the possibility of Wii U support. After strong sales of the hilarious Strong Bad series on WiiWare, followed by the even bigger Tales of Monkey Island, Telltale Games has turned its back on the Nintendo front in recent times, with none of its new episodic titles, such as Wallace & Gromit, Back to the Future and Jurassic Park, gracing Wii or WiiWare.

Will matters change with Wii U, though? At the moment, the answer is 'nobody knows.'

We're not big fans of closing any doors. We'll always look at any new platform, and this is no different. iOS has been fantastic for us on iPad with the touch screen and we'll seriously consider anything in that vain. We're not making any promises, but we're excited by anything like that.
- Telltale's Executive Producer, Kevin Boyle.

Would you like to see Telltale back on Nintendo formats in the near future, or is episodic gaming on other platforms sufficient?

I think right now all these articles about developers waiting is non-news. Developers like to have hands on time with a system before they commit to developing games.

Even Nintendo's closest third-party developers, like Ubisoft, have had very limited time with the system. Smaller developers like these would not have had the chance to play around with the system and unless they were at E3, they probably haven't even touched or played the system.

Damn, it didn't hit me until they mentioned iOS... I could get a Telltale season and play it with either pointer controls or on the touchscreen by streaming on a very nice looking screen!
