Tomonobu Itagaki has confirmed that his upcoming game, Devil's Third, would work perfectly fine on Wii U. The former Team Ninja boss, now head of Valhalla Games and working alongside THQ, recently spoke about the eagerly awaited first post-Team Ninja project that is due on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012, stating that a Wii U version could be on the way as well.
With Devil's Third being built upon the same game engine that powers Darksiders II, which has been confirmed for Wii U, Itagaki-san said, "There's always a possibility. If Nintendo's fan base increases, especially in terms of hardcore games, then yes. Machine performance-wise, it can handle it."
To back this up further, THQ representatives present during the interview stressed that Valhalla Games is indeed one of a select group of THQ developers that are currently looking very closely at the Wii U hardware, what can be achieved on it, and which game experiences would be best suited to the system and its unique controller.
