Solid Snake Trapped in a Box Till 2012 on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

According to various sources, the 3DS remake of the classic Metal Gear Solid 3 has been shifted into an unspecified 2012 date.

The 3D remake of Snake Eater was originally due out this year, and is even one of the current titles as part of Nintendo UK's "it's not a DS" advertising campaign, however sources speaking to Kotaku have confirmed a delay into 2012 in both North America and Europe. There doesn't seem to be a delay for Japanese folk, with Solid Snake still set to pop out of an unsuspecting crate this November.

Are you planning on reliving the Metal Gear Solid 3 experience on 3DS? Are you disappointed with the delay?

Gah! This is annoying, are they trying to separate it out from its HD remakes I wonder? Was really looking forward to having it this year, looks like between September and December there is near enough nothing out for the 3DS.

Delayed probably because the user base isnt there yet. With the big price cuts the 3DS is getting that should change

I hope they dont scrap it all together. One of the games I was looking forward too and one of my all time favorites.

Amazing - Nintendo gives the floor to Third Parties, then they completely drop the ball and panic because their half-baked efforts didn't help sell 3DS alone. Their reaction? Push everything back until 2012 and let Nintendo bring its big guns out to boost sales at Christmas.

Completely agree, Nintendo should of had a big Nintendo first party title out when the 3DS launched, something like Super Mario Land 3D or Mario Kart 7, letting the third-party developers bring in the sales was a big risk.

The best part about all that is yet to come though. In a year or so, 3rd parties will be bitching again that only Nintendo's own games sell well and that they can't compete with them. The sad thing about that is that many will buy into that BS again and continue blaming Nintendo for everything that doesn't go the way they want it to. I mean seriously, the amount of people I see blaming Nintendo for the cancellation of MML3 and delay of MGS3D is insane. Smilie

Don't get me started on that bullsh*t. Capcom blaming the fans for not being interested enough is shocking. Have you seen the Capcom Europe Twitter comments? Shocking stuff.

Great post!

I really think that Konami have ruined the chances of this 3DS port by announcing the much better HD port for the HD systems.

Who's gonna want a full priced handheld version with gimmicky motion sections and worse handling controls over a similar priced bundle of 3 games with superior graphics and control? I really want Snake Eater 3DS but I keep hearing more and more crap about it that's making me not want it anymore.

Well quit your crying & either get both or one, no one here cares about the controls since the slide pad works just fine & there weren't really any parts the required dead on, miss-a-step & you die, moments. As for the "gimmicky motion controls" we've only seen the bridge part so who knows what else could be used well, Ocarina used the Gyroscope VERY well & in only one thing so don't knock it yet.

I'll be getting the 3D version of the HD remakes, now THOSE are just shameless cash ins, I mean who REALLY wants to replay the same 3 games but only with better textures. Enjoy your "HD" you graphic whores....I'll be playing a TRUE 3D experience while you suckers just have a very FLAT "3D" experience HAH!!

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422
