Zelda fans are campaigning for a 3DS Majora's Mask remake and now have the backing from one of the biggest fans, Zelda herself.
Operation Moonfall was setup by dedicated Nintendo fans in a bid to bring the 2000 Nintendo 64 game to the modern age on the 3DS. The unique entry in the long-running adventure series still has a strong following with fans over a decade on, praised for its innovative time mechanic and character development. With The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS receiving high praise (Cubed3 9/10) across the board, it looks like Majora's Mask is a strong contender for another 3DS remake.
Zelda Williams, long-term fan and the recent face of the 3DS advertising campaign recently tweeted her appreciation of the Operation Moonfall movement:
So wanted to tweet one out to the @opmoonfall folks. Majora's Mask is my favorite Zelda game, I'd love a 3D version! #FightOnGuy
Back in July, series producer Eiji Aonuma hinted that it wouldn't be an "utter impossibility" if there "was a similar output of emotion and clamour from fans for a remake of Majora's Mask".
Remakes are a hot topic recently, with Critical Hit urging Nintendo to give remakes a rest.
Would you like to see the game remade for the 3DS, or perhaps Nintendo should consider the project for the Wii U?
