Celebrate the birth of one of the most successful RPGs, Dragon Quest, with a collection of the earlier works on a single disc.

The Wii anthology is out next month in Japan and will contain the first three games in the series, Dragon Quest I, Dragon Quest II and Dragon Quest III, originally developed by Enix/Chunsoft for the NES from 1986. Square Enix will also pop on the SNES remakes on the same disc for good measure!

Can't wait to see the trailer of DQ X! Smilie I had some gripes with DQ IX (mostly the character growth and the faceless other characters in your party) but I still liked it quite a bit. It's very likely that DQ X isn't going to have any of those things I didn't like about DQ IX, so I'm really excited for it despite not knowing anything! Smilie

Is this coming to the US?

And Square Enix has plans to release this in the US? Not at the moment.. at least that's the official response. This would sell great over here after all the DS games have brought the franchise back to the public eye.

Am I the only one who thinks this is pretty lame?

Like video game music?!

Dragon Quest X has just been announced...as an online-focussed RPG for the Wii and the Wii U, with cross-platform online play. It's going to have a massive single-player campaign we all expect, but also greatly expands on the social multiplayer features found in Dragon Quest IX. More details can be found here, though some are still pretty vague.

Personally, I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to like this just yet. I didn't really care for multiplayer in DQ IX and didn't like some gameplay changes that came as a result of that feature but I'll wait and see. If the online multiplayer is really seamless and fun, Square Enix and Nintendo could be onto something big here, in Japan anyway.
