Fire Emblem Announced for Nintendo 3DS on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Fire Emblem fans can rest easy - the series is very much alive with a brand new entry announced today for the 3DS.

Fire Emblem 3D was amongst the various 3DS titles announced today, a new chapter in the long-running series that boasts rich 3D graphics and classic strategy-based play. Details are scarce at the moment, however there are rumblings of local 2-player support but not co-operative play as being spread on the interwebs.

The new game is being put together for a 2012 release.

I just started playing the Wii FE, and I agree, this looks better.
I don't ever recall Nintendo announcing so many heavy hitting games so early in a system's life, but the 3DS has got gobs of great games on the way.
I'm guessing this has to do with appeasing disgruntled consumes who were waiting for more game announcements, and to keep attention off the Vita.
My 3DS purchase keeps getting justified over and over and over and over...

I love Fire Emblem games! It just kills me that they're so under-appreciated. They don't get the amount of attention they deserve.

I feel FE fans shouldn't get too excited. The last FE game for the DS, the sequel to Shadow Dragon, was never released outside of Japan. Nintendo do so love to screw over the non-Japanese fans of FE.

I can't wait to see this game in action. Not like we got to see secrets of the emblem,but it was a continuation of shadow dragon. So who cares.

This on the other had looks amazing.
