Videos of tri-Ace

Konami has released a new trailer of Beyond the Labyrinth for Nintendo 3DS, the hotly anticipated new Dungeon RPG adventure from tri-Ace, the development team behind the likes of Star Ocean, Radiata Stories, Resonance of Fate and Valkyrie Profile. Details on Beyond the Labyrinth are scarce right now, with the only piece of information being that it features a young girl as the lead character and that she will talk a lot.

Some development staff details have been revealed, though, with Beyond the Labyrinth on Nintendo 3DS being directed by tri-Ace's Takayuki Suguro, who worked in the same role of Resonance of Fate and Valkyrie Profile 2, as well as being produced by Shingo Mukaitouge of Konami, someone who may be familiar to readers due to his work on both Elebits/Eledees on Wii and the DS sequel, whilst Motoi Sakuraba is heading up the soundtrack side, just as he has done for past tri-Ace titles.

Below are two recent teaser trailers of Beyond the Labyrinth, a game that Konami apparently has high hopes for:

Can't help but laugh when I see the end of the second trailer. Smilie It does look pretty interesting though.

When she falls over? Yeah, made me laugh. It gives me a 'Fragile' vibe, which is definitely a good thing in my eyes...

I like the look of the game, it's like it's your adventure, following a girl and protecting her while defeating monsters and stuff, I definitely would like to see more of it, the graphics are nice as well.

Yep, that was it. Smilie It reminds me of Fragile Dreams a lot as well when I look at the character interaction or the artwork near the end of both trailers.

I haven't seen any talk about a localisation so far though. Since Konami has such high hopes for this game, I assume that they're very likely going to localise it, right? Maybe it's just too early for talk about that to show up though.

If its similar artwork style to fragile thats fine by me..as that game had excelent artwork...but..as long as they dont copy anything else from that pretend rpg.

The art style definatly reminds me of Ico....which is AWESOME!!!!

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

I doubt it will come over to the West. Following around a little girl and having her speak directly to you may appeal to Japanese RPG gamers but not most Europeans or Americans.
