Zen Pinball 3D Announced for 3DS eShop on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Zen Studios has announced it will be bringing its acclaimed pinball series to the Nintendo 3DS and of course it'll be in 3D for the first time ever. Zen Pinball 3D will be a downloadable title and will be available on Nintendo's eShop service later this year.

Content wise, the game will include four different pinball tables - Earth Defense, Shaman, Excalibur and Eldorad. These range from jungle to middle age themes. It will also feature other game modes, including local hot seat multiplayer and online features, such as leader boards and table rankings. Players will be rewarded for accomplishing table specific missions and furthermore can compete to achieve the greatest Pro Score ranking, which is the sum of a player’s high score across all tables, and a Team Score which is the sum of a player’s score and friends score.

Zen Studios also released an announcement trailer to give a taste of what to expect.

The tech looks really good, but I really dislike the art and aeshetics of the themed levels, I think they look cheap and tacky. I would prefer something more modern with a distinct style, clean, futuristic with lots of cool visual effects, as opposed to a few fairground type boards that do little for me.

I'll wait for 3D remake Devil's Crush if the license is still active, or Williams Collection which looks great on 3DS.

Would have preferred the Marvel Pinball tables instead, but this does look good, if there is a demo or is free, then I might pick it up, but not too sure atm.
