Zelda: Skyward Sword Heats up in New Trailers on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Another week closer to the eagerly anticipated release of the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Nintendo has released new details/trailers.

We've already taken a dip in a lake and rummaged through a forest in the last fortnight. In the latest snippets we explore Eldin Volcano (seen previously in E3 footage), home to a new race of creatures who dwell underground - The Mogma.

These subterranean folk help our destined hero to traverse the fiery landscape and let Link scavenge the ground using the new Digging Mitts and dabble in explosives with his very own Bomb Bag. Unlike past entries you can collect bomb flowers to replenish your stock and use the Wii Remote Plus to control the bombs' trajectory - rolling or throwing.

Nintendo also outlined the new Harp instrument - music plays a significant role this time, where players direct Link using the Wii Remote Plus to wield a new tune or two.

Ross pointed out something which was quite interesting to me when we were talking on MSN earlier. The rating at the start of Skyward Sword trailers says that the game contains "Animated Blood". I never noticed it, since I haven't really watched many videos.. but I thought I'd check out the start of one of these videos and it does in fact say that...

So... there will be blood? Smilie

I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE. I DRINK IT UP!!!!

But back on topic, Ocarina of Time originally had blood in it. But with or without blood, I don't think it will really make a difference.

I'm aware that the original Ocarina of Time had blood in it and I know that with or without blood, Skyward Sword will still be a fantastic game. It's just something I found quite... interesting.

Can you believe that EDGE of all magazines gave this game a 10. They are one of the few mags that resist putting on the sentimental/nostalgic goggles when reviewing a game. So when they say 10 they really believe it. ONM gave it a 98% but its ONM. . .

In North America yes, and November 18th for the EU, what he meant by that is that the week's ended and we're another week closer.

Sorry - I'd meant to clarify - another week since Nintendo updated us with Zelda trailers/screens (seems to be every Friday now (Thursday over in Japan)).

Looking awesome through, really do like the art style and finally glad to have new races to meet and areas to explore. Despite being water and fire/earth like in past games, these areas and dungeons look so distinctive in design.

Am hoping these early high scores do reflect on the high quality in store!

Just over 3 weeks to go now guys, 3 weeks and 3 days at the time of this post. It's been a painful wait for me, so I hope it's worth it. Smilie
