3DS Gets Limited Edition Zelda Treatment on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

If there's any way to sell a Nintendo console at Christmas this will be the answer: A limited edition black 3DS with a slick Legend of Zelda paint-job.

The Japanese gaming giant has had a tough time flogging the new 3D portable around the globe, but with price reductions, new colours and eagerly anticipated games the trend is already shifting towards the better. Now comes the scrumptious icing on the cake with the announcement of a special edition 3DS bundle to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Legend of Zelda series.

The hardware itself uses the standard Cosmic Black base but adds a golden themed front, subtle coloring on the face buttons plus a dollop of paint on the 3D depth slider.

Sweet. Smilie If I wanted the current 3DS model, I would get this one. But IF I will ever get a 3DS, it will be one with better battery life and the extra slide pad.

Is there really ANY reason why they didn't release this edition with Ocarina of Time 3D? I would have actually waited for it and surely it would have helped with sales during that period...

Oh well, I guess I'll survive this. If it was a gold 3DS like the GBA SP though...that would really hurt.

Dunno - they probably felt OoT alone would do the job, but it perhaps needs that extra push for Christmas I suppose! 1998 all over again lol
