Vigil Games Discuss Darksiders II and Wii U Hardware on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

One of the first game's to be announced for the Wii U was Darksiders II, when it was shown at E3 2011.

A new video from Game Informer features a discussion with Vigil Games, who are developing Darksiders II. The general manager and technical director have revealed their challenge to get the game running on the Wii U hardware in time for E3, but was later scrapped by Nintendo for uncertain reasons.

They also describe the ease of developing for the system and getting the game to run on the controller is simple. Ideas for the Wii U's unique controller are already being discussed during the video, as well, with no firm plans on what they'll utilize just yet.

Damn I feel for the guys who worked their hands to the bone to get something ready for E3 and then Nintendo comes out and say "No, don't show it".

Nintendo, you have a lot left to learn about your relationships with third parties, like respect their work and the effort they make for YOUR platform.

Damn I can't wait for this console and this game. I'm glad developers aren't having big issues developing something for it. Hope to hear and see more of Wii U version of Darksider 2

Given that none of that work would have been wasted, and we have no idea what would have been shown, I dont think you can judge that at all.

Nintendo didnt show any of their own games either - just tech demo's (in fact, not even that, most were just concept videos). Given how the press jumps on everything these days, and we get every last detail and critism of absolutely everything....maybe Nintendo didnt want to show anything untill all the specs were set in stone?

Showing stuff too early can really backfire.

agree

Well I hope ease of use will encourage devs to support Nintendo this time around. But yeah I agree with Kafei2006 that's pretty OCD of Nintendo...they need to loosen up a bit so they don't scare of new relationships with devs.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422
