Mark Atkinson, former director of technology at Crytek, is now helping out Nintendo in a new role.

The Japanese home of Mario is currently working around the clock to produce a home console that's more in line with the current technological trends and demands. In doing so, various development outfits like Retro Studios have been seeking experienced folk to help bring software up to scratch. Gone are the days of standard definition, hopefully.

During his time at Crytek he helped adapt the once difficult CryEngine 3 to work on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Whilst we would be here for some time if we were to document every move within the industry, Atkinson's experience at Crytek, Lionhead Studios and Ignition should bode well at Nintendo.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone.Smilie

Well, that's great news! His graphics-heavy engine experience will surely be used for Wii U.
