Drop what you're doing, Square Enix has released a meaty trailer for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts installment for 3DS.

Dream Drop Distance has had a fair bit of love poured into it, and the RPG giant behind the project hopes to entice you into the 3D-exclusive adventure with a familiar cast and all new worlds within the huge Disney timeline to explore.

The new adventure is due for release in Japan on March 29th 2012, and will also ship as a nifty, limited edition bundle donning various Kingdom Hearts icons.

I see what you did there, jb. Smilie

I just watched this trailer and it's looking really good (plus, it has freaking Neku and the other TWEWY characters!! Smilie). I kinda want to get it whenever it comes out but I haven't played any Kingdom Hearts game before. Can anyone tell me if it's required to have played previous instalments first to know what's going on?

Excessive speculation leads to unrealistic expectations, which ultimately lead to disappointment.

This looks promising the more I see it. I just hope KH3 won't be a ps3 exclusive...such a waste if it was esspecially since Wii U is twice as powerful as the ps3 & the 360 is going strong.
It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone.Smilie

This looks like it'll be the best KH game in a long while, even BBS was pretty small and limited but this looks really robust and detailed, the biggest KH since KHII I'm sure.
And probably not as bad as KHII was either ;o

But yep, unfortunately KH's plot is incredibly convoluted and layered so.. if you want to fully understand what's going on, you'll likely need to have played every KH game so far.
And even then you probably won't fully understand. Smilie It'd be nice if they cleared more things up instead of just asking more questions like they usually do.

Still even then KH is a really great and fun game gameplay wise so if you're not one of the few gamers who really bothers keeping up with the plot I still think it'd be worth getting.

One day I will be a real life anime.

Yeah I feel the same way. KH is like a more tacticle Zelda game & the story is nice but not required to enjoy it.

Looks absolutely ace, and I'm not the biggest KH fan out there. One of the 3DS's must-haves for sure by the looks of things. Japan will explode!
