With Capcom bringing out two successful Resident Evil games for 3DS in its first year, there's interest to make more in the future.
There's something about Capcom's increasingly-popular survival horror franchise that sticks to Nintendo formats. The Wii had a fair share of zombie hunting projects, albeit some questionable spin-offs, and the 3DS has gotten back in bed with the "classic" horror formula in Revelations.
The success of both games with fans and a solid step into a difficult market has gotten Capcom producer Masachika Kawata thinking. Speaking to IGN this week, Kawata was rather chuffed that fans have enjoyed the games and it's given him "motivation to make another 3DS RE title".

As always with these big development houses, there are other projects to wrap up, but "hearing players say how much they enjoyed Revelations does kind of make me want to forget the other projects and get stuck right into making another RE game for fans to enjoy (laughs)", he said.
Whilst another Resident Evil game for 3DS hasn't been confirmed, there is a strong possibility for more 3D horror action in the future.
Did you enjoy Mercenaries 3D or Revelations for 3DS? What would you like to see in the next Resident Evil game for 3DS?
