Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Gets New Downloadable Tracks in Japan on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is Square Enix's 3DS rhythm game that takes the Final Fantasy brand in a slightly different direction. The game plays out like traditional Final Fantasy titles, but battles are now like a rhythm game, relying on time-based actions.

Since it's been released in Japan, last month, Square Enix have started to roll out new tracks from various games in the Final Fantasy series and they can be downloaded to your Nintendo 3DS. Four of the new tracks have been revealed, coming on March 8th 2012.

Matoya no Doukutsu (FF, field stage)
Battle 1 (FFIII, battle stage)
Archylte Steppe (FFXIII, field stage)
Warera Kitareri (Final Fantasy Type-0, battle stage)

Nice, I assume that's the normal Random Battle theme from FFIII? Love that one even though it still gives me nightmares because it reminds me of the ridiculous amounts of grinding I did to get to Lvl99 in the DS version.

Archylte Steppe from FFXIII is awesome as well. Smilie I might not buy the game when it comes out because I still haven't played about half of the numbered FF games but I definitely want to listen to some of the included tracks that I already know.

I've played & beaten all but 3 numeric FF's, IS THIS supposed to be localized to the UK & US?

Presumably. Trademarked in NA, but no confirmation, and probably not for a while.

I guess it's nice to see the 3DS getting DLC, as long as the service isn't abused, like on XBLA and PSN all should be well and good. I expect a few cash-ins from Capcom and a few other companies though. Smilie
