Sora Drops into the World of Tron in Kingdom Hearts 3DS #1 at Nintendo Cubed3

Amongst the familiar settings and characters in Kingdom Hearts 3D,there'll also be new areas to explore: the first of which, Tron.

Scrapping traditional garb, selected members of the vast Dream Drop Distance cast, including our protagonists Sora and Riku, venture into The Grid, a futuristic world inspired by the recent Tron Legacy flick, rather than the original 80s interpretation.

Square Enix also introduced three newer features: Dive Mode, Link Portal and Training Toys.

Dive Mode:
Quite literally fall through hoops, collecting prizes and defeating enemies to rack up points. Earn enough, and more levels unravel.

Link Portal:
There are two types of portal scattered across the game world: Battle and Friend. The first sees you facing a Dream Eater, who'll give you materials to create it for your own, whereas the latter gives you a Dream Eater on loan for a short time.

Training Toys:
Play, poke and stroke your Dream Eaters through various touch tools.

I've known about TRON being in the game for quite some time now, but yeah. This looks fucking amazing. CAN'T WAIT. TWEWY CHARACTERS, HELL YEAH! Smilie

Tron world was in KHII. Wasn't particularly fond of it. Maybe 'cause I hadn't seen the movie before, but it seemed to drag on a bit too much for my liking.

I loved the TRON world in KHII because it was actually related to the plot. Most of the Disney worlds in KHII were really disjointed and barely felt necessary at all, they were just making the length between points A and B longer, rather than having A and B nicely woven into them.

If that makes sense.
Anyway from the sounds of trailers the new TRON world had a plot connection to the old one so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Plus it looks awesome.

From the sounds of things, this world could be better than the one in KHII. It will be interesting to play as Riku in this world, because playing as Sora was great.

The Tron franchise has been pretty good at tieing stuff together. The games and even the (long before) comics tied into the last film. The whole Legacy Code stuff came up even before the last film was confirmed Smilie

Anyway, great..

But I still want a Gargoyles world!
