Kingdom Hearts 3D Has a Game-Breaking Bug on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Japanese folk are getting their mitts on the latest Kingdom Hearts installment, however there's a teeny bug that breaks the game.

Deep within the expansive 3DS adventure lies an unfortunate bug that has been acknowledged by developer Square-Enix. It involves blowing up some sort of device, in which if it's done within a specific set of parameters, causes the game to itself explode and prevent further progress. If encountered, simply don't save and restart.

Dream Drop Distance has been performing well over in Japan - first topping the Media Create charts as number one and selling 64% of its initial stock so far. 213,579 copies were swiped off the shelves by eager fans and new 3DS adopters, but the the sales figure fell a tad short of the 295,000 benchmark set by Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days on the original DS. That said, the Nintendo DS at the time had a far higher install base and the 3DS installment had a far higher pre-order figure.

The game is out July 31st in North America and August 3rd in Europe.

Oh ouch, huge blunder there. It'll inevitably be fixed for future releases and I guess this is why a lot of 'international version's of games are released in Jspan.

Though I wonder if S-E will attempt to take advantage of the 3DS' new dlc capabilities and offer up a patch?

And yes those sales are very impressive considering the 3DS is relatively new to the market. It's just a shame that the inevitably better game will have sold worse. (i did not like 358/2 Days very much ok)

Well HOPEFULLY they'll use a similar set up Nintendo did for Skyward Sword, except instead of sending in your save data Square could simply upload a patch to install via the eShop.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

They can patch this, right? The 3DS being DLC ready means this can be addressed.
